Veenavaadhini Sadhanalaya

On Veenavaadhini’s podcast “Listen and Learn”, this month we feature “Rama Janardhana”. This is a Nottuswara composition of Sri Muthuswamy Dikshitar where he has set Sanskrit lyrics to a western tune. This piece is in praise of Lord Rama. The notes have been sung first, followed by the lyrics, and then played on the Veena.

The song is in raga Shankarabharanam and Tisra Eka thalam.
